The 3 Main Vital Signs that you are required to Check and Monitor on a Daily Basis are -

1. Vital Sign : Body Temperature

  1. Equipment : Digital Oral Thermometer

  2. Normal Body Temperature : 98.6° F +/- 1°F

  3. Out of Range Body Temperature : >99°F is considered a FEVER.

  4. Conditions affecting Values for Body Temperature :

Do not eat or drink anything for at least five minutes before you take your temperature because the temperature of the food or beverage could make the reading inaccurate.

  1. Correct Technique to Measure Body Temperature

  1. Wash your hands with Soap and Water.

  2. Use a Clean Thermometer, one that has been washed in cold water, dried and cleaned with an alcohol wipe, and then rinsed again to remove any traces of the alcohol.

  3. Place the thermometer tip under your tongue and hold in the same spot for about 40 seconds.

  4. Readings on the Thermometer  will continue to increase and will make a beeping noise when the final reading is done  in usually about 30 seconds.

  5. After the Beep, remove the thermometer from your mouth and check the display for the measured temperature.

  6. Record this value by entering it on the Curefit App as a part of your daily monitoring.

  7. Rinse the thermometer in cold water, clean it with alcohol and rinse again to remove the alcohol.

  8. Your Thermometer is now ready to be used for the next reading.

2. Vital Sign : Blood Oxygen Saturation Level

  1. Equipment : Pulse Oximeter

  2. Normal Oxygen Saturation : >=95%

  3. Out of Range Body Temperature  : <95%

3. Vital Sign : Pulse | Heart Rate

  1. Equipment : Pulse Oximeter

  2. Normal Pulse Rate : 60 to 90 beats per minute

  3. Out of Range Pulse Rate : >100 OR <60 bpm

  4. Conditions affecting Values for Oxygen Saturation AND Pulse Rate :Do not eat or drink anything for at least five minutes before you take your temperature because the temperature of the food or beverage could make the reading inaccurate.
    • Poor Circulation (Cold Fingers) | Rub your hands to warm up your fingers before clipping on the device.

    • Shaking or moving your finger too much because of shivering Hold the hand steady or wait till the shaking stops and then recheck

    • Having any pigmentation on your hands or fingers like Nail polish and/or Henna | Remove Nail Polish or clip the device on any other non-pigmented part or Ear lobe.

    • Taking the Oximetry reading simultaneously with your BP reading at the same time and using the same arm.

  5. E. Correct Technique to Measure Blood Oxygen Saturation Level AND Pulse/Heart Rate

    1. Make sure the probe is clean and dry by wiping it with an alcohol wipe.

    2. Make sure your fingers are clean, warm and free from pigments like nail polish or henna.

    3. Place the clip-like device on your index finger of your dominant hand such that it is well positioned, fits the finger well, neither too tight to constrict circulation nor too loose that it may fall off

    4. Do not force the probe on to a larger digit like a big toe as it may reduce the circulation and be inadequate to detect light.

    5. Keep the probe on till the readings on the display to stabilize and show consistent values for Oxygen Saturation and Pulse rate

    6. Record this value by entering it on the Curefit App as a part of your daily monitoring.

    7. Clean the probe using an alcohol wipe and keep it ready to be used for the next reading.
